Abstract

Yeni iletişim teknolojilerinin gelişmesi ile beraber habercilik alanında birtakım dönüşümler yaşanmıştır. Habercilik geleneksel boyuttan dijital mecralara taşınmış ve haber içerikleri dijital ortamlarda paylaşılmaya başlanmıştır. Haberciliğin dijital anlamda yapıldığı mecralardan biri de podcasting yayınları olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Ses kaydı imkânı veren podcasting yayıncılığı ile haber içerikleri, ses kaydı ile hazırlanarak dinleyicilere sunulmaktadır. Podcasting yayınları bilgisayar veya mobil telefonlara yüklenerek istenildiği zaman dinlenebilir bir yayıncılık olanağı sağlamaktadır. Bu çalışma, dünyada ve Türkiye'de podcast aracılığı ile yapılan dijital haberciliğin yansımalarını incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Çalışmada, podcast üzerinden yapılan haberciliğin kökenleri, ekonomisi, dünyadaki örnekleri ile Türkiye’de podcast üzerinden haberciliğin gelişimi literatür taraması ile irdelenmektedir. Çalışma neticesinde Amerika başta olmak üzere Avrupa ve Doğu Asya’da podcast haberciliğinin nicelik ve nitelik anlamında oldukça geliştiği gözlenmekte ve ekonomik boyutunun giderek büyüdüğü saptanmaktadır. Literatür incelemesi sonucunda, Türkiye’de podcast haberciliğinin, ABD ve Avrupa ile kıyaslandığında nicelik açısından zayıf kaldığı görülmektedir. Ayrıca, Türkiye’deki podcast yayınlarının, reklam geliri ve pazar payı açısından oldukça yetersiz olduğu düşünülmektedir.

A DIFFERENT VIEW AT DIGITAL JOURNALISM: PODCASTS

Abstract

With the development of new communication technologies, there have been some transformations in the field of journalism. Journalism has shifted from traditional to digital media and news content has begun to be shared in digital media. Podcasting publications confront as one of the channels in which journalism is made digitally. Podcasting publications, which provides audio recording, is available for any listeners who have access to audio recording. Podcasting broadcasts can be uploaded to computers or mobile phones and users can listen to it whenever they want. This study aims to examine reflections of digital journalism in the world and in Turkey which was made via podcast. In the study, the roots of the podcast journalism, economics, world examples, the development of journalism is carried out with literature survey. As a result of the study, it is observed that podcast journalism has improved significantly in terms of quantity and quality in Europe and East Asia, especially in the USA, and its economic dimension has been gradually growing. As a result of the literature survey, when compared with the podcast journalism in Turkey, the US and Europe, is seen as weak in terms of quantity. In addition, the podcast in Turkey is considered to be quite inadequate in terms of advertising revenue and market share.
